Leadership Classes Begin in September

God’s Spirit is up to something – calling, shaping, challenging, changing. God’s Spirit is up to something in you! But discovering what that might be is not an easy task in today’s world. It requires guidance, prayer, reflection, and feedback.

Maybe the Holy Spirit has planted a seed of leadership in you. But what does that mean? How can you nurture that leadership ability? Where can you learn about leading in a way that reflects the heart of Jesus to the world?

For the past five years, Orchard Hill Church and Nazareth have partnered to offer Emerging Leaders, a leadership training and spiritual formation class. The purpose of the course is to develop godly leaders who will stay the course for a lifetime, becoming people who attune their hearts to Jesus and lead in Jesus’ way.

Emerging Leaders features:

• Christ-centered curriculum
• Christian life skills and leadership skills
• Dynamic learning community of 15-20 participants per class
• Weekly two-hour sessions (September - April)
• Attend either Sunday or Wednesday evening sessions
• Cost: $225 - covers the materials used in class

If you hear God’s spirit calling you to develop your leadership potential, contact Enrique Ochoa, Director of Leadership Development, at q@naz.org

Nazareth's Disaster Response

Nazareth is currently working with 38 families to provide assistance in recovering from flood and tornado damage. Each family has a Nazareth coordinator with whom to communicate physical needs, prayer support requests, and requests for volunteer assistance. Nazareth staff and volunteers provided 250 meals for flood victims and workers at River of Life Church of the Nazarene in North Cedar on two different occasions. We are also housing volunteer workers from other communities who are lending a hand to Cedar Valley victims.

Volunteers will be needed over a long period of time through the many phases of recovery, and there will be many opportunities to help. Nazareth is currently working with other churches and agencies to find volunteers to muck out 100 homes in the Cedar Valley. If you are able to help with this phase of assistance, please contact Darlene Imhoff at darlene.imhoff@naz.org.
